Happy Anniversary to Me

Actually I'm a day late--and some might say, a dollar short--because yesterday, December 13, was the fourth anniversary of ByJane. That first post was on LiveJournal and my avatar was a photo of Molly that I can't even find now. I had great expectations for the blog; two years later, I was somewhat chastened. Not to mention disappointed. And at times pissed off. But I persevered and here's what I was promising on December 13, 2006. I was a tad ambitious, perhaps, and--as has been my wont before--promised more than I provided. Still, some 645+ published posts down the road, I'm proud of what I've wrought: it's been me up-close, sometimes uncomfortable and sometimes goofy. But that's Jane.

  1. Congratulations on your anniversary! That's quite an accomplishment!

  2. Congratulations Jane! Nine months ago you encouraged me to start a blog and now I have two blogs!

  3. Happy anniversary! I've only got one family member who reads my blog too - my much younger sister (she's 28), though I may out myself to the others over Christmas. I hadn't thought of the benefit of being sure at least one family member would notice if I keeled over dead while alone in the house, thanks for that!

Hey, is it possible that all your blog design futzing did something to the feed? The last post that showed up in my google reader was the merry-bah-humbug one, nothing since then.

I hope you treated yourself to some champagne for your anniversary!

Congrats! I'm coming up on my one-year anniversary, and the effort of keeping it going makes me admire your tenacity. Besides, you always have something interesting to say.

    Happy Holidays!

  5. Big round of applause for your anniversary!
It was great meeting you this weekend... and look forward to getting together with that Nanny Goat girl after the first of the year.

  6. Congratulations on your anniversary!

I'm thinking that when I start forgetting things in the future I will be able to use my blog as my memory starter. Maybe it's already helping me because it makes me focus more on life.

Yes, four years worth of thoughts and memories on blog posts, you should certainly be proud.

  7. Four years! Regular blogging is no easy feat. What you write is enjoyable to read, so be proud of yourself.

I'm futzing with my layout too, and in fact plan to switch to a new one -- in the middle of getting it ready. Stop by if you get a chance.

645+ posts- wow, that's amazing! It's an interesting pasttime isn't it? I missed this post too- what the heck hey? Glad I wandered by via a link. I didn't even know what a link was 2 years ago... Happy anniversary, belated tho it is. I hope you are having a great holiday season.

  9. Congrats on your anniversary...the milestone must've wiped you out. No recent posts? Where the heck did ya go after your anniversary celebration?

So--whaddaya think?
